About Us
We provide support to a beneficial drop-in communal garden plot at Colony Farms Community Garden in Coquitlam, British Columbia. The communal garden provides delicious nutritious food for the participants and local food bank. During growing season we invite you to take part in creating opportunities to grow abundance. The Canadian Point Garden Society is a volunteer based organization dedicated to enhancing participant’s abundance by collecting donations for communal gardens. Join us in gathering and providing resources to the Coquitlam communal garden. Crops of Spring 2018
Plentiful Harvest
This year on our communal garden plot we grew lots of food. The participants and food bank also benefited from these crops.
– 30 delicious cobs of corn – 30 servings of swiss chard – 30 servings of potatoes – 20 servings of mint tea – 30 servings of green beans – 12 servings of beets
We also grew peas, lettuce, and wonderful tomatoes. Our healthy grape vines look ready to produce more next year. We plan to grow more food for more participants. This requires more land suitably zoned for agriculture.

Expansion Efforts
We aim to expand opportunities for participants to grow and enjoy healthy local food supporting organic communal gardens is a great way to care for the land, air and water. We look forward to your involvement in enhancing the well being of our environment. Let us know about locations for communal gardens. These might be in uncultivated areas such as near pedestrian street crossings, separated from traffic. Do you know a place where moveable gardening boxes could be placed for a couple of growing seasons? Communal gardens on government land are owned by everyone. The Canadian Point Garden Society is looking for more agriculture land for additional drop-in communal gardens. A location we would like is on Pinewood Avenue in Coquitlam BC east of the stairs and south-west of the firehall.
Future Plans
When suitably zoned land is available and the time is right, at established communal gardens, we plan to add a point system where you may earn points by growing food and spend them on a reasonable amount of the harvested crops. At these City Point Earning Programs, you will be able to drop-in and earn point income for food and also supplies. These City Point Gardens will an optional system where you can be rewarded for your efforts.
Support
Your donations and participation can help us to expand our communal garden locations and activities. Communal gardens based on land that is not privately owned can give pride in ownership to the participants. Connect with your patriotic duty and show you are care about access to communal gardens in your city. We ask you to take part in contributing to a program that grows benefits without the wastefulness that can be in government run programs.
